Having to stay in the hospital can be very stressful and bring a lot of anxiety in patients. All our staff strives hard to make sure that our patients are receiving the best care and comfort at all times. To support our staff, we are looking for volunteers to help patients while they are in the hospital. The objective is to help provide comfort to patients and visitors and support our objectives under the directions of Nursing personnel.
This position is primarily categorized as Patient Care and Nursing staff support and requires you to:
- Round on patients and tend to their basic comfort needs (pillows, blankets, etc.)
- Visit and talk with patients who may not have a family member or friend with them.
- Answer call bells to tend to patients needs and requests.
- Provide assistance with meal trays and help bring water and ice to patients.
- Help with filing department records, pulls records as requested, prepare new charts.
This position involves: 1. Walking and standing for long periods of time. 2. Reaching, bending and moving a cart with supplies at times. 3. Should be able to speak English in a well-modulated voice so that you are understood by others. 3. Should be able to take direction from clinical staff regarding all activities/duties.
