What: Each year the Boys & Girls Club coordinates a College, Career & Job Fair for area teens. The format is similar to other career or college fairs, each company, college, or professional hosts a table and students rotate from table-to-table asking questions and picking up materials/resources. We anticipate 200 or more attendees including students and parents. Traditionally, an equal mix of colleges, trade schools, companies and individual professionals host tables and to provide information for our teens. The event is free to all teens, parents and presenters. Options to present via Zoom will be available (about 10% of workshops).
Purpose: To provide Mercer County teens with an opportunity to learn about their post-secondary career and educational options. For our teens who have participated in our Career Launch Program, it is a chance to hone in on career options and to get more detailed information about potential career paths. In addition. It can help them in their decision making process of what to do after high school. Through the fair teens get practice speaking with adults, and interfacing with potential employers.
Schedule:
Resource Fair: 4:30 pm- 6:15 pm
Workshops (two 45 minute sessions): 5:00 pm & 5:45 pm
